How can one enter Indian Defence Force?



Today, I am going to tell how to join indian defence force as an officer in combat/fighting arm.


After you clear your 12th grade, you have options as below:

NDA (National Defence Academy)



  • Age                 : 16-19.5 years
  • Organisation   :  UPSC
  • Qualification   : 12th Class of 10+2 System of Education/Equivalent for Army  and with                                              Physics and Maths for Air Force & Navy
  • Exam date      : Twice a year (April and September) 
  • Result date     : NDA 1- Mid of July                                                                                                                      : NDA 2- Last week of December or First week of January   


AFTER GRADUATION


CDSE (Combined Defence Service Exam)
  • Age  :   19-24 Years    |       Indian Military Academy
                       19-22 Years    |       Naval Academy
                           19-23 Years    |       Air Force Academy
                             19-25 Years    |       Officers’ Training Academy
      • Organisation  : UPSC
      • Qualification : Graduate and 12th Class of 10+2 System of Education/Equivalent for Army                                and with Physics and Maths for Air Force & Navy
      • Exam date     : Twice a year (february n november)
      • Result date    : CDSE 1- last week of May or first week of June                                                                             CDSE 2- last week of Jan or first week of Feb
                                   
      AFCAT (Air Force Common Admission Test)

      • Age                 :   19-23 years
      • Qualification  :  Graduate and had physics and maths in +2
      • Organisation  :   Indian airforce
      • Exam date      :  Twice a year (february n september)
      • Result date     :  In 1-2 month from the date of examination.
